Dr. Richard Kramer

Dr. Richard Kramer

Dr. Richard Kramer has been practicing pediatric dentistry for over thirty years. He earned his dental degree from McGill University School of Dentistry and completed a Pediatric Dentistry degree, along with a Master of Science in Dentistry degree, from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. He was then appointed Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, as well as Assistant Chief of the Dental Department at Boston Kennedy’s Memorial Hospital for Children. After serving in this capacity for two years, he entered private practice in pediatric dentistry in Vancouver. Dr. Kramer has served in the dental staff of B.C. Children’s Hospital since 1971, and developed the Dental Department at Cambie Surgical Center in Vancouver in 1996. He has several published articles, including a chapter on behavioral management in Braham’s Textbook of Pediatric Dentistry. The concepts discussed in those articles have been presented in lectures throughout the United States and Canada. Dr. Kramer has the following qualifications:

Aiming to reduce anxiety in dental offices, Dr. Kramer was inspired to create FunZone Playroom Design, a company specializing in the development of animated play areas for professional offices. Dental Fearobics was created as an educational training tool to provide insight into dealing with patients’ emotional needs.

Away from the office he enjoys spending time with his family and his three grandchildren, while managing to squeeze in some time for golfing.

Dr. Donald Scheideman

Dr. Donald Scheideman

Dr. Donald Scheideman has been practicing dentistry for nearly 30 years. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and his Pediatric Dentistry diploma from the Oregon Health Science Center. He completed a fellowship in the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center and a residency in pediatric dentistry at the Oregon Health Science Center. Dr. Scheideman’s credentials include:

  • Pediatric Dentistry Diploma, University of Oregon Health Science Center
  • Fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada

He has been actively involved in organized dentistry, providing leadership for pediatric specialists in the province. Dr. Scheideman has served as the President of the Dental Specialists Society of BC.

In his leisure time, he enjoys skiing, bicycling, water sports, kayaking, and swimming.

Dr. Anabel Chan

Dr. Anabel Chan

Dr. Anabel Chan, a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, has been treating the oral health needs of children since 1990. Dr. Chan completed a residency at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. After that, she became a staff dentist there for another three years, treating children in a hospital setting. Dr. Chan’s credentials include:

  • Member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada

Dr. Chan was an Assistant Clinical Professor at both the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia. She speaks occasionally to study clubs and has had several articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.  Dr. Chan is married with two young daughters. She also speaks fluent Cantonese and some Mandarin.

Dr. Rezi Nouri

Dr. Reza Nouri

Dr. Reza Nouri received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 1994. After a year of practice in family dentistry, he went on to complete his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Toronto. Upon his return to B.C., and while in full-time practice, he completed his Master of Science degree in dental biomaterials at the Faculty of Dentistry, UBC.

Dr. Nouri is a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry, and is staff surgeon at both British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital and the Cambie Surgery Centre. He is a former president of the B.C. Society of Pediatric Dentists, and also a former president of Dental Specialists Society of B.C. He has been involved with organized dentistry by participating on different committees at the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, and the BC Dental Association.

Dr. Nouri has been an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC since 1994 and has been the recipient of a part-time Faculty Teaching Award. Besides clinical practice, Dr. Nouri is interested in clinical research, and has published articles on clinical dentistry. He is also a contributing consultant for Oral Health Journal.

Dr. Edward Chin

Dr. Edward Chin

Dr. Edward Chin is a Board-certified pediatric dentist who earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Master of Science, and specialty training from the University of Michigan. Dr. Chin’s credentials include:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada
  • Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Chin is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, College of Dental Surgeons of B.C., and the Canadian and American Academies of Pediatric Dentistry. He splits his professional time between his private practice and his role as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry. He continues to lecture internationally on a wide range of subjects relating to clinical care for young and adolescent patients.

Dr. Louisa Leung

Dr. Louisa Leung

Dr. Louisa Leung is a Certified Pediatric Dental Specialist who earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2000.

Before Dr. Leung began her specialty training, she completed the Pediatric Dental Residency Training program at BC’s Children’s Hospital and she practiced in general dentistry for two years. She pursued post-graduate studies in Houston at the University of Texas Health Science Center to obtain her Pediatric Dental specialty certificate and Master of Science degree. Dr. Leung’s credentials include:

Despite Dr. Leung’s love of practising dentistry in Texas, her heart and Canadian roots made her return back home to Vancouver, BC.

Dr. Leung provides primary dental care and comprehensive dental treatment for infants, children, adolescents, and special needs patients at the office, Cambie Surgical Centre, and BC’s Children’s Hospital. Besides private practice, Dr. Leung teaches Pediatric Dentistry to undergraduate dental students as a Clinical Instructor at UBC and Douglas College and she presents lectures to different dental study clubs and groups.

Outside of work, Dr. Leung keeps busy with her husband and three young children.

Dr. Carter Ng

Dr. Carter Ng

Dr. Carter Ng, a native of Vancouver, B.C., is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. His interest and inspiration to become a pediatric dentist first came to light while working alongside his late father and mentor, Dr. George Ng, a pediatric dentist. 

After 8 years of practice in general dentistry in Vancouver and Burnaby, Dr. Ng pursued his post-graduate studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC) where he completed his Master of Science and Diploma of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ng’s credentials include:

  • Diploma of Pediatric Dentistry, UBC
  • Fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada 
  • Member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC

Dr. Ng’s pediatric dental practice provides primary dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and medically compromised patients. He prides himself on providing the highest quality dental care with his easy-going personality that helps people feel at ease during their visits.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Ng is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry and has volunteered on medical mission trips to the underserved communities of Mexico and Paraguay. He is a board director and past-president of the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of British Columbia.

During his personal time, Dr. Ng and his wife, Cara, enjoy traveling, outdoor recreation, and an active life.

Dr. Bradford Scheideman

Dr. Bradford Scheideman

 Dr. Scheideman received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of British Columbia followed by a yearlong General Practitioner Residency (GPR) from the University of Alberta where he received advanced training in Oral Surgery, Implants, Prosthodontics, and Periodontics. Dr. Scheideman realized his ambitions resided within Pediatric Dentistry and subsequently completed a specialty program in Pediatric Dentistry at the Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. Throughout his residency he received extensive clinical training in behaviour management, emergency treatment, working with special needs patients, oral sedations, and full mouth oral rehabilitations. Dr. Scheideman’s credentials include:

  • Certified Specialist of Pediatric Dentistry
  • Pediatric Dentistry Diploma, Jacobi Medical Center (affiliate of the Albert Einstein School of Medicine)
  • General Practitioner Residency Certificate, University of Alberta Hospital
  • Doctor of Dental Medicine, University of British Columbia
  • Fellowship at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada
  • IV Sedation Certification, University of Alberta

 He is also a member of the:

 In addition to private practice, Dr. Scheideman is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry for both the Undergraduate Dental and Graduate Pediatric Dental program, where he is able to share and pass on his passion for children’s oral health care. He has also volunteered on medical/dental mission trips to Cambodia and Guatemala.

During his leisure time, Dr. Scheideman, enjoys hiking, playing hockey, and snowboarding. Dr Scheideman looks forward to providing quality dental care and dental education to children and teenagers that will leave them with a life-long foundation for exceptional oral health.
